About the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Oversight Committee (S.C.FMOC)
The South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Oversight Committee has developed the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Plan. This plan in no way replaces the local mutual aid agreements you have in place. It only enhances your agreements by providing statewide assistance when requested. Please carefully review our mobilization plan so you understand how to register your department, activate the plan and function within it.
The Oversight Committee is made up of 11 senior emergency services professionals from around the state. The committee was formed by Statue 23-49, The Firefighter Mobilization Act of 2000. It exists to create an intrastate mutual aid system to support fire/rescue emergencies that exceed local capabilities. When coordinated through the state Emergence Management Division, this system also allows for responses to neighboring states.
