South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Oversight Committee

About the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Oversight Committee (S.C.FMOC)

The South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Oversight Committee (S.C.FMOC) has developed the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization Plan (S.C.FMP). The S.C.FMP in no way takes the place of or affects any mutual aid agreements you have in place, it only enhances them by providing statewide assistance when requested. Please carefully review the S.C.FMP so you understand how to register your department's information, how the plan is activated and operates.

The S.C.FMOC is made up of 11 senior emergency services professionals from around the state. The committee was formed by Statue 23-49, The Firefighter Mobilization Act of 2000. It was designed to create an intrastate mutual aid system for response to emergency events that exceed a local jurisdiction’s capability. Additionally, this system also allows for an interstate response to assist neighboring states.
